COMPATIBILITY

We use PeerPressure on compatible models: a persistent software mod, so the console stays unlocked. Consoles that aren't compatible with PeerPressure use ABadAvatar, a software exploit we set to run automatically each time the console boots. Neither involves any hardware changes. If you have any questions about your Xbox 360, get in touch before ordering and we will help.

Common Questions

FREQUENTLY ASKED

How do I book a service?

Choose your options in the Build Your Service tool at the top of this page and check out. Prices are fixed and shown as you build. Your order confirmation includes the address to post your console to.

Can I combine multiple services?

Yes. Add everything you want to one build and it is carried out as a single job, with one trip through the post. Options already covered by another, such as a Deep Clean inside a Full Service, are included automatically so you never pay twice.

What does software unlocking let me do?

It lets the Xbox 360 run homebrew apps, back up and restore your own save data, and use custom dashboards. We unlock consoles our customers own, and Retro Craft does not support or facilitate software piracy in any form.

Do I need to do anything when I switch it on?

No. PeerPressure is a persistent mod, so the console stays unlocked. On models that use ABadAvatar, we set the exploit to run automatically each time the Xbox 360 boots.

Can I do this myself?

Yes. The tools are free and, if you're comfortable following a guide, you can do it yourself. We offer it as a service for anyone who would rather not: we set it up, check everything works, and hand the console back ready to use.

How do I send my console in?

Post it with Australia Post to the PO Box in your order confirmation, with your order number on the parcel. Australia Post is required, as other couriers can't deliver to a PO Box. Drop-off in Bicton, WA is also available by arrangement.

How long does it take?

Our current turnaround is 3 days from the day we receive your console. It may run slightly longer during busy periods, and we keep you updated along the way.

Is there a warranty on your work?

Yes. Our workmanship and any parts we supply carry a 12-month warranty. Where you supply a part, such as an HDMI kit or a replacement shell, our warranty covers the quality of our installation only. Read our service terms.

How is return postage handled?

Return postage is invoiced when the work is complete. We return your console with the same Australia Post service you used to send it — Express in, Express back.
