A modern USB-C Power Delivery replacement for the Nintendo GameCube's original power supply. The stock unit is a large, heavy brick that is increasingly hard to find in good condition — and like every supply of its age, its capacitors do not last forever. This board takes its place and runs the console from a USB-C PD charger instead, which is a great deal easier to live with, to travel with, and to replace.
Power delivery has come a long way since these machines were engineered. A USB-C PD supply is smaller, cooler and far better regulated than anything available when the console was new — and when it eventually needs replacing, it is an off-the-shelf part rather than a hunt for a decades-old brick.
Fits Both GameCube Revisions
Compatible with DOL-001 (the original model, with the digital AV output) and DOL-101 (the later revision without it). A direct-fit replacement requiring no modification to the console.
Requires A USB-C PD Charger
The board draws 12 V at 3 A over USB-C Power Delivery, and a charger that cannot supply that exact profile will not run the console — plenty of otherwise-capable USB-C chargers skip 12 V altogether, or offer it only at reduced current. On our 200 W six-port charger use PD1; the 270 W supplies it on all four USB-C ports. Not sure what your charger can do? Our USB-C PD power meter reads the real figures back, port by port.
