A short pigtail adapter that lets the USB-C cables you already own charge a retro handheld. One end plugs into your handheld's charging port; the other is a USB-C socket — so the cable, and how long it is, is entirely your choice.

Use The USB-C Cables You Already Have

Original handheld chargers are getting harder to find, and the ones still around are decades old. This adapter replaces them with something you already carry: plug any USB-C lead into the adapter's socket and your handheld charges — and plays while it charges — just as it did on its original charger.

It also leaves the length up to you. Use a short lead for a bag, or a long one to play from the couch, and swap it whenever you like. The adapter simply stays with the handheld.

Looking for a home console version? Our USB-C to Console Power Adapter — 12 cm covers the NES, Mega Drive, GameCube, Wii, Wii U and more.

Which Version Do I Need?

Pick by the handheld you are charging. If you have several, add one of each — select a version, set the quantity, add it to your cart, then come back and choose the next.

PS Vita 1000

Fits the original PS Vita (PCH-1000 series), which uses Sony's own multi-pin charging port. The slimmer PS Vita 2000 charges over micro-USB and does not need this adapter.

PSP 1000 / 2000 / 3000

Fits the PSP 1000, 2000 and 3000, and the PSP Street (E1000). Not for the PSP Go, which uses a different connector.

Nintendo DS Lite

Fits the DS Lite only. The DS Lite has its own charging port, which differs from both the original DS and the DSi.

Nintendo DSi / 3DS / 2DS

Nintendo used one charging connector across this whole family, so one version fits all of them: DSi, DSi XL, 3DS, 3DS XL, 2DS, New 3DS, New 3DS XL and New 2DS XL.

Choosing A Charger

These handhelds all charge at 5 V, and 5 V is the standard output every USB-C charger supplies — so there is no special profile to check, unlike our console adapters.

  • Any USB-C charger works, including a phone charger and any USB-C port on all three of our GaN chargers.
  • Charging several handhelds at once? One multi-port charger can run them side by side, each from its own port.

Key Features

  • Use your own USB-C cables — any USB-C lead you already have on hand
  • Your choice of length — pair it with whatever cable suits where you play, and swap it any time
  • 12 cm pigtail — short enough to stay tidy in a bag or case
  • Play while charging, just as on the original charger
  • Four versions covering the PS Vita 1000, PSP, DS Lite and the DSi / 3DS / 2DS family
  • Travels light — far smaller than an original charger, and it packs with cables you already carry

Good to Know

The original Nintendo DS and the Game Boy Advance SP share a connector that none of these versions fit. If your handheld is not listed, or you are unsure which model you have, get in touch before ordering and we will check it with you. Neither a USB-C cable nor a charger is included.
